Denver Missionaries
Ricky Jean~ Chief Editor
Our service today was a glorious one, because it perfectly encapsulated how much God has blessed us. Not only were we back to having Service on campus (UTA), but today we also welcomed the Denver Missionaries: led by Nate and Sam Pavon! The DFWICC church gave them a really warm welcome which made them feel well received. This was evident in our singing too as the church sang each note with passion.
For the Welcome: Chris and Jessica challenged us to be grateful (Psalms 100:4-5), he reminded us that God is faithful with his promise throughout all generations. During the announcements Fernando surprised us with all the new changes that are coming to Dallas. Then after that the Denver Missionaries officially placed membership.
Soon after the De-Castros were given the honor of sharing for Contribution, since this was their last service. They are getting ready to embark on a new journey with God as missionaries in California. The whole church laughed and wept upon hearing them speak about their experiences here in Dallas. They were part of the original church planting (seven years ago), and for them this moment felt like tearing from your child.
Nate Pavon ended our service with an incredible first sermon. First he congratulated us on all of our hard work (1 Thessalonians 1:1-4), then he helped us to recognize how much Paul was a model Disciple and that we should imitate him. Likewise, the church should continue to be a model one as well. At the end of service we welcomed two new brothers (Joseph/Terrence) into the faith.
