High school Sweethearts
How many of us wish we could fall in love at a young age, and be with that person for the rest of our lives? Well the Morales’ are doing just that, and it feels as if their past came out of an epic love story, but with God being at the center now.

Debbie: Tell us your love story?
Stephanie: We met in Junior High. We just kinda knew each other’s face, but my sister and my best friend were like madly in love with him. I didn’t meet him again until high school, and that’s when we became closer friends. I was in the ninth grade and he was in the tenth grade. We basically have been off and on together since then.
I was about fifteen years old, and he was too. We were actually born in the same year. One advice we would like to give to the Singles ministry is to take advantage of discipling. The way we see it is like– we’ve been out in the world, our marriage was like not doing so well before we were able to seek out God.
When we first started studying the bible we were still struggling. But as we got closer to getting baptized, getting open about our sin, letting everything go, and getting the choice to kinda start all over again, that’s what kinda helped us. Right now, as a couple we’re really going after striving for God and putting him first. We’ve only seen countless blessings from it.
Discipling is what really helps us, it keeps us accountable for each other’s actions, feelings, and emotions that comes with being married and being in a relationship. Surrendering too, things we used to have control over we no longer do.
I think, if anything, just letting God disciple us, and letting the people he’s placed in our lives disciple us, to help us grow stronger in our faith; and really understanding what it means to put God in front of our marriage, and that’s what really helped us overcome obstacles.
Debbie: What is the best thing about being married in God’s kingdom?
Ernesto: It’s like having a free marriage counselor helping us out.
