Today marks a great day in God’s Kingdom with the planting of the Oklahoma City Mission team; as well as a supplemental team going out to Los Angeles. Which means that today also includes the last Sunday service of Evangelist and Women’s Ministry leader: Nate & Sam Pavon. And recently appointed Geographic Sector leaders: Fernando & Jackie Chavez from the DFWICC. This is being done to continue advancing God’s Kingdom (Matthew 28:18-20). However, for those of us here in the DFW Church this definitely feels like our hearts are being torn apart, since we’re losing some very close relationships with the disciples that are leaving.
It is a bittersweet moment for all of us. But for the Welcome Tyler Jongsma said it best– who will raise up? Many of the disciples who were chosen played a key role in the church, and they left some very big shoes to fill (Lamentations 3: 22-24). Then we got some very uplifting news during the GNN video; where we found out that the movement raised five million dollars nationwide.
History is definitely being made and it will continue being made by God’s disciples. For the Communion our new leaders Joey & Karen Gregory shared a heart moving message. She told us details of what God helped her to overcome from her past. Then she implored us to find our security in the cross. For the Sermon Joey reminded us how confident Elijah was in God (1 Kings 18: 41-46). His overall message was for us to be on fire for God.
And the only way for us to do so is to be fully devoted to Him. Which means we have to give Him 100% of our hearts; anything less and we would not be able to see the Lord work powerfully in our lives (1 Kings 18: 30-40). What an incredibly impacting event this is. The room may have been filled with tears, but the angels are rejoicing in heaven. I can’t wait to see what awaits us as we continue to spread the gospel and save souls.
