Today we had a phenomenal church service (DFWICC), the spirit of the disciples were at an all time high, as everyone came to represent their national country (Ghana, Haiti, Guatemala, Congo, etc.). I was in awe of everyone’s outfits, especially those who dressed in their traditional dashikis, and the like.

God wants all nations to be saved, and that’s what we emphasized today as Job & Erin Sterling shared from Acts 2:5 for the welcome. Following that– was the International prayer, where a handful of disciples took turns praying in their native tongue. This was meant to highlight the first century church, when the disciples were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other languages (Acts 2:4).

This was done in order to help the people believe; and it was also done in order for the apostles to be able to spread Jesus’s message to all nations. For the sermon, Nate Pavon reminded us not to build a tower for ourselves (Gen 11: 1-4), like the people who constructed the Tower of Babel, which ultimately failed because of their arrogance (Gen 11: 5-9). But instead we should become great disciples (Philippians 2: 1-4).

Once the service was over we got to partake in the International potluck. This included a lot of different cuisines from the aforementioned cultures. The room was filled with many hungry disciples who were ready to eat! We ate. We sang. We were glad. The DFWICC is growing tremendously as a family, and today was evident of that fact. I can’t wait to see all the future miracles God will do.
