From the beginning to the end I was super encouraged from our Winter Workshop 2022! Never have I been surrounded by so many fired up disciples in one building for an entire weekend. God’s Spirit was overflowing in the hotel– permeating the streets. Especially during those times when we met in the lobby and overcrowded the entire floor.

The Year of the Spirit was the theme for our Winter Workshop 2022. And you could feel God’s Spirit in every single disciple; we came in fired up to hear God’s word, and to learn the plans for the movement in the year 2022. Both the Dallas Fort Worth and Houston International Christian Church, along with our Geographic Sector leaders: Jason & Sarah Dimitry (San Francisco ICC) and our Super Region Leaders Kyle & Janien Bartholomew ( SFICC) were also present.

On Friday, January 14th, we had an awesome Staff Workshop where Tyler Jongsma reminded us that the Spirit of God came powerfully 1 Samuel 10:6-7. Then he challenged us to be bold like Paul and to preach the word of God fearlessly. Then later, there were some practicals given for the church through some awesome charges preached by several of the leaders, such as: Kyle Bartholomew, Nate Pavon, Jason Dimitry, Fernando Chavez, etc.

Some of the key notes were on: Spirit Filled Devotionals, Spirit Filled Evangelism, improving the Singles Ministry, etc. I was sure to take heed when Fernando encouraged the Singles to get fulfilling careers. One worthy of a true man of God; or when Jason Dimitry encouraged our culture to be of one mind, and to remember that God saves his people through leadership Hosea 12:13.

On Saturday, January 15th, Jason Dimitry gave an awesome lesson– highlighting the theme for our entire movement in Acts 1: 7-8. He urged us to wear God’s armor Ephesians 6:16-18 and to preach the word. Following that were some amazing sermonettes led by Chris McCloskey, Arthur Castillo, Nate Pavon, etc. Some key notes: were about how much God’s Holy Spirit can truly help us to change and become true disciples of God.

One thing that stood out to me was the realization that our God is a planner. Isaiah 46:8-12. For myself, this year I want to be a disciple who plans everything, and with this mindset I will be more successful in all that I do. Having a goal to aim for is a lot better than running around aimlessly. If our God plans for everything then so should we.

For the Sermonettes from the Men’s portion of our Winter Workshop, I learned a lot on how to raise my character to the next level. Hector Mogollon reminded us how important it is to spend time in preparation Acts 1:12-14; Kenny Ubeh encouraged us to be willing to go through the fire in order to be refined Psalms 66:8-12. While Bob Luzolanu emphasized the importance of fruitfulness John 15:1-2, 15-17.

Sunday, January 15th, we were greeted with an awesome dance performance from our very own sisters in the Kingdom. Then for communion Kyle & Janien Bartholomew gave a heartfelt message, she said the cross to her means “Another Chance.” Fernando Chavez preached a very convicting message for the sermon. He reminded us to make sure we are full of the Spirit rather than being full of ourselves.

Several other highlights were the announcement of the Oklahoma City (OKC) Mission Team, the official planting of the University of Texas at Dallas (UTD) mission Team, Dillon  Gallez and Claudia Agbassekou getting engaged, Elizabeth Garcia and Kriztoff Andreas Mabalot who started dating, and the baptism of Jasmine Vera. What an amazing start to our year, I can’t wait to see all that God will do through us. Matthew 28:18-20.
